About the Conference of Local Health Officials

The Conference of Local Health Officials exists in Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS 431.330) to provide recommendations on foundational capabilities and modernization to the Oregon Health Authority. The Conference Committees serve as a forum for Local Health Officials and the Oregon Public Health Division to come together and discuss expectations, funding, program elements for Financial Assistance Agreements, and other governmental public health issues.

The Coalition of Local Health Officials staff are contracted to provide support to the Conference of Local Health Officials, but the Conference and the Coalition are different entities and serve different purposes.

The Conference meets on the third Thursday of every month. Find out more about this meeting and find the meeting materials here.

Conference also has six committees that make recommendations (ORS 431.340 - 431.345) on policy, budget and any other major changes to the full Conference of Local Health Officials Board for discussion and final action. These committees are:
